Sugar Bowl ski resort is only 45 minutes from Auburn, the spring skiing should be great!

Cityscapes – Whether you’re interested in the history of the gold rush, or the distinctive culture of the west coast lifestyle, there is plenty to explore within the city limits:

Old Town Auburn – Explore the history of this quaint gold rush town which has been largely unaffected by the high tech hustle and bustle of Silicon Valley just a couple hours west.
Sacramento – The California state capital has lots to see and do, this is the nearest big city to the wedding.
San Francisco – Rich in culture and experiences, this is definitely worth stopping by, especially if you are traveling in and out of San Francisco International Airport.

Restaurants – California produces most of the country’s produce and dairy products, and the restaurants take advantage of the great natural resources to create amazing food. Here are some of our favorites:

La Provence – Distinctive French cuisine
110 Diamond Creek Place, Roseville, CA 95747, (916) 789-2002
New Moon Cafι – Contemporary dining inspired by the current season
203 York Street, Nevada City, CA 95959, (530) 265-6399

Shopping – For those of you who love to go home with more than you arrived with, there is lots of local boutique shopping as well as a major shopping mall nearby:

  Galleria Mall, Roseville
  Downtown Auburn
  Downtown Nevada City
