March 28, 2005 Update:  The Rocklin Park is completely sold out for the weekend of the wedding.  We are recommending the Holiday Inn in Auburn (530-887-8787) as the next best hotel.  The Rocklin Park has been recommending places in Rocklin, but that's even farther away from the wedding and reception.  If you call the Rocklin Park, you may be able to get on a waitlist in case there are cancellations, but please plan to make alternate lodging arrangements.

Preferred Hotel:  We have blocked out most of the rooms at the Rocklin Park Hotel for the wedding weekend.  Please mention that you are with the Polhemus-Wei wedding to get the specially negotiated group rate.  You should find that the Rocklin Park is competitively priced and has very comfortable rooms.  There are a handful of suites available as well, for those needing more room or a kitchenette.

Rate Information: Their regular rooms have either a single king bed, or two queen beds, and the wedding rate is $100/night.  There are three "junior suites" which each have a jacuzzi tub for $159/night.  And there is "suite 200" which comes with a kitchenette for $199/night.  These rates will be honored for as many nights as you wish to stay and include a complimentary continental breakfast each day.

Reservations:  We strongly recommend that you make your hotel reservations as soon as possible.  The Rocklin Park Hotel only has 67 rooms and will almost certainly fill to capacity on the weekend of the wedding.  The more rooms that are reserved for the wedding, the more we can hold for our other guests.  Reservations only require a credit card to hold them, no deposit is required.  Reservations can be changed or cancelled without penalty up to 2pm the day of arrival.

Child Care: The Rocklin Park works with a third party company, Sitters Unlimited, that offers child care services at the hotel.  They come highly recommended and have great credentials.  They can be reached at 916-435-1620.

Friday Night Cocktail Hour: In order to spend more time with our guests, we are having a cocktail hour on Friday night before the wedding.  It will be a cash bar in a private hospitality room at the Zinfandel Grille, located on the first floor of the Rocklin Park Hotel.  Most of the wedding party will be staying at this hotel as well.
   
The Rocklin Park is the only hotel where we have blocked out rooms and negotiated a group rate.  However, there are of course plenty of other places to stay as well, here are two of our favorites:
Powers Mansion Inn (530-885-1166) : Located in the heart of downtown Auburn, the Powers Mansion Inn is a charming bed and breakfast with cozy rooms and friendly service.  We stayed there before on occasion before Carrie's parents finished building their house.  Some of their rooms feature bathrooms with claw-foot bathtubs.
Auburn Valley Ranch (530-269-0160) : Located just minutes from downtown Auburn, The Auburn Valley Ranch offers secluded, elegant and deluxe accommodations.  Carrie's parents stayed there regularly in the past, and can attest that their 5 rooms are a great choice for those spending some extra time in the area.  Not your usual bed and breakfast, this is definitely the more comfortable and "homey" choice.
